T-Mobile bets $1000 that the Galaxy S is faster than your iPhone

T-Mobile is offering $1,000 to anyone who can prove that their iPhone is faster than a Samsung Galaxy S. Best two out of three in a speedtest on your respective carrier’s network (no WiFi) will be named the victor, but the Galaxy S will have the unfair advantage of running on a 4G network. If you think your iPhone can prove its worth, the offer is available during a three day window from April 29th to May 1st at a number of Seattle-area T-Mobile stores.

Note: customers are limited to just one challenge, and must be over 18.

White iPhone Available Tomorrow

Apple has issued an official press release that indicates that the ever-elusive white iPhone 4 will be available tomorrow. Even the Apple homepage has been overtaken because of this.

“The white iPhone 4 has finally arrived and it’s beautiful,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing. “We appreciate everyone who has waited patiently while we’ve worked to get every detail right.” - via Apple

I'm not entirely sure how quickly Apple will sell these iPhones out, but if you've spent the last year on your toes waiting then keep a close eye on the purchase page.

Spy Party Beta Imminent

A tweet on Spy Party's Twitter confirms that Spy Party beta will be available this year and I, for one, am incredibly excited. Spy Party is a multiplayer game that highlights the stealth and mingling abilities of a spy. One player plays as the spy and is tasked with several objectives while at a party, the second player plays as a sniper on an adjacent roof trying to pick out and assassinate the spy.

All in all, it sounds like a pretty sweet game.

*Leaked* Larger iPhone Screen

M.I.C. gadget has gotten their hands on a prototype screen for the new iPhone (The name is disputed, but rumors have pinned down both iPhone 4S and iPhone 5) that is larger and includes a new proximity sensor as well. When compared side-by-side, the physical size of the iPhone's faceplate has not changed, rather the screen size has been upped from 3.5" to (approximately) 4". (As a note of reference, the iPhone 4's screen is on the left in the picture, and the alleged prototype is on the right)

This new screen is supposedly going to be released on Apple's next iPhone, which is also supposed to be packing their new A5 processor.

White iPhone 4 is now unofficially official

There’s better things in Belgium than just waffles right now: an official white version of the iPhone 4. The rumors pinpointed the launch of the device for sometime this week, and those rumors seem to be correct. Official iPhone 4 boxes that depict a white iPhone 4 inside are hitting retail shelves.

So, it seems that after approximately 10 months after the iPhone 4 went on sale in the black variety, the white version is finally going to be available. Way to go Apple; you’ve painted your phone white, and kept the proximity sensor working.

Google Nexus S on Sprint

Samsung and Sprint have announced that the Google Nexus S 4G from Google will be coming to Spring on 5/8. Pricing will be the same as on other carriers, $199.99. It is currently unknown if Sprint will have both the black and white versions of the Nexus S available. Will you be getting one?

White iPhone 4 on T-Mobile

"That’s right, you’re looking at photos of an iPhone prototype with T-Mobile USA 3G bands. The actual internal model is N94, and if you remember, the Verizon model is N92 while the standard GSM variant is N90. We have verified that the phone itself is running a test version of Apple’s iOS, much like the one we saw in those videos from Vietnam, and it includes internal Apple test apps like Radar and Apple’s employee directory app. Additionally, the front of the white iPhone pictured looks a little different from the photos of the retail white iPhone 4 that surfaced recently — specifically, the proximity sensor has changed on the retail version. Combined with the fact that it wouldn’t make sense to release an iPhone 4 on T-Mobile at this point in time, we’d wager that Apple is just testing the new T-Mobile-friendly radio with its current iPhone 4 hardware, possibly in preparation for integration in a future device. It’s also entirely possible the internals on this iPhone prototype are being disguised in an iPhone 4 shell, though we doubt it. Let’s see what happens with the iPhone 5 and if that makes it way to T-Mobile. If that AT&T acquisition gets approved though, the iPhone will eventually make its way to T-Mobile customers regardless."
